Corrie preview: what's in store this week

Coronation Street, ITV1

Mon 7.30pm/8.30pm, Wed 7.30pm, Fri 7.30pm/8.30pm

It looks as if it could be the end for Liam and Maria. Devastated by the death of their baby, Maria flips when Liam suddenly reveals that he used to have the hots for Carla. And when the Gussetworld boss admits he’s not sure their marriage has a future, Maria angrily tells him they may as well call it a day.

Later, Liam finds himself pacing the streets and – quelle surprise – he ends up at Carla’s flat. A furious argument breaks out, with Liam blaming his sister-in-law for the breakdown of his marriage. But it’s not long before harsh words turn into passionate kisses and… well, you can probably guess the rest.

The next day, Maria puts on her gladrags and begs Liam for another chance. Feeling guilty, he agrees – but when he breaks the news to Carla, she slaps him and warns him he’s making a big mistake.

Elsewhere Gail has a shampoo and set in readiness for her meeting with Ted – but her plans are almost scuppered when Tina arrives unexpectedly to announce she’s moving into David’s room and that she never wants to go home to her mum again. There’s an even bigger shock in store for Gail later in the evening when Ted reveals he’s gay.
